The 9 Days Primate Special Uganda is a primate loveru2019s dream, tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest u2013 home to the highest concentration of primates in East Africa u2013 exploring the community-run Bigodi Wetland, game viewing and cruising the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park, spotting the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, and finally meeting the endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at Entebbe Airport, welcomed and transferred to your accommodation. Overnight in Entebbe (B&B).
Drive west to Fort Portal beneath the Mountains of the Moon, with lunch en route, continuing to Kibale National Park. Enjoy an evening night forest walk in search of bush babies, pottos and other nocturnal creatures. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale.
Embark on sensational chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, with chances to see red-tailed and colobus monkeys. After lunch, enjoy a community-guided walk through Bigodi Village. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale. (Chimpanzee Habituation Experience available as an option.)
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the scenic crater lakes. After lunch, enjoy a game drive in search of warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge.
Morning game drive to the Kob mating grounds in search of lions, elephants and buffaloes, followed by an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise among hippos, elephants and abundant birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge. (Kyambura Gorge primate walk available as an option.)
Travel south via the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, with a short game drive before continuing to Bwindi through scenic countryside. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
The highlight u2013 track the gentle giants of Bwindi through steep, forested terrain to spend a magical hour observing a mountain gorilla family as they eat, play and rest. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
Depart Bwindi for the drive back, passing Lake Mburo (look for zebras and impalas) and the Equator for photos, with lunch en route. Arrive Entebbe in the evening. Overnight in Entebbe.
Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your international departure flight.
