What is gorilla trekking?
Gorilla trekking is a guided adventure through tropical forests to observe endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. It is one of Africa’s most unique and emotional wildlife experiences.
Where can I go gorilla trekking?
We offer gorilla trekking tours in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, as well as Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
How difficult is gorilla trekking?
The trek can range from easy to challenging depending on the location of the gorilla family. Some hikes may take a few hours through steep and forested terrain, but experienced guides and porters are available to assist you.
Do I need a gorilla trekking permit?
Yes. Gorilla trekking permits are mandatory and should be booked in advance due to limited availability. We help secure permits as part of your safari package.
What should I pack for a safari?
We recommend comfortable hiking shoes, lightweight clothing, a rain jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, gloves for trekking, and a good camera for wildlife photography.
What is the best time to visit East Africa?
East Africa can be visited year-round, but the dry seasons are generally best for trekking and wildlife viewing. These are typically from June to September and December to February.
Do you offer airport pickups and accommodation?
Yes. We can arrange airport transfers, hotel bookings, safari lodges, and complete travel logistics as part of your package.
Can children join safaris and gorilla trekking?
Children can join most safaris, but gorilla trekking has a minimum age requirement of 15 years in Uganda and Rwanda.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
Depending on the destination, you may encounter mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.
