Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Kigali
Met at Kigali International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight.
Kigali City Tour & Genocide Memorial
A guided city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Drive to Volcanoes National Park at the foot of the Virungas. Dinner and overnight.
Karisoke & Cultural Experience
Hike to the Karisoke Research Centre and enjoy a cultural experience with the local community. Dinner and overnight.
Musanze to Gisenyi - Lake Kivu
Transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight.
Cross to DRC - Hike Mount Nyiragongo
Cross into DR Congo and hike Mount Nyiragongo (3,470m) to view its famous lava lake. Overnight in a summit shelter.
Nyiragongo to Mgahinga
Descend and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Dinner and overnight.
Proceed to Nkuringo, Bwindi
Continue to the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Trek to spend a magical hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. Dinner and overnight.
Second Gorilla Trek
A second gorilla trek to a different family in Bwindi. Dinner and overnight.
Batwa Community & Buniga Forest
A cultural encounter with the Batwa people in Buniga Forest. Dinner and overnight.
