Southern Rwanda Cultural Exploration
Drive to southern Rwanda, visiting the King's Palace in Nyanza and the National Museum in Butare to learn about Rwanda's aristocratic history and colonial period, with an Intore dance performance. Dinner and overnight.
Nyungwe Forest Canopy Walk
Depart for Nyungwe Forest for the famous canopy walk on an elevated walkway above the treetops, with an eloquent guide explaining the forest's plant life. Dinner and overnight.
Primate Search in Nyungwe
An early hike in search of chimpanzees and troupes of Angolan colobus monkeys through rugged, high-elevation terrain. Return for a late lunch and afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Karongi & Kibuye Genocide Memorial
Drive to Karongi through green tea plantations, visiting the Kibuye Memorial near Lake Kivu, a moving reminder of Rwanda's history. Dinner and overnight.
