Day-by-Day Itinerary
Nairobi – Giraffe Centre
Welcomed at Nairobi airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon visit the Giraffe Centre, a breeding station for endangered Rothschild giraffes.
Nairobi to Maasai Village of Muteleu
Drive to the community-run Maasai village of Muteleu for an authentic insight into Maasai life and culture, with a short sunset hike. (B,D)
Drive to Chyulu Hills
Travel via Kimana to a tented camp at the foot of the volcanic Chyulu Hills, with an afternoon exploratory tour. (B,D)
Hike in the Chyulu Hills
An easy guided hike to the top of the hills – among the youngest mountain ranges on earth – with views of Kilimanjaro and the Yatta Plateau, and a picnic lunch. (B,D)
River Bed Hike & Loitokitok
Hike along the Nalemoru River to a small waterfall, then explore the lively multicultural Maasai market town of Loitokitok on the Tanzanian border. Overnight at Kibo Slopes Cottages.
Amboseli National Park
Game drives in Amboseli beneath Kilimanjaro among elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, impala and flamingos on the soda lake.
Tsavo West National Park
Transfer into the vast savannah of Tsavo West for game drives in search of the Big Five, ostriches and hippos.
Tsavo West National Park
A full day exploring Tsavo West’s hilly landscapes and wildlife, including Mzima Springs.
Tsavo West to Nairobi
Game drive en route out of the park and return to Nairobi.
Elephant Orphanage & Flight to Zanzibar
Visit the Sheldrick elephant orphanage in Nairobi, then fly to the spice island of Zanzibar.
Zanzibar
Relax, swim and snorkel, and explore Zanzibar’s spice plantations and historic Stone Town.
Zanzibar at Leisure
A free day to enjoy the beaches and island activities at your own pace.
