Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Kigali
Your driver-guide meets you at Kigali International Airport for a short city tour and lunch, then transfers you to your hotel to relax. Overnight in Kigali.
Kigali to Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park (about 4-5 hours). Check in, have lunch and relax. Dinner and overnight.
Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk
Early breakfast then drive to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking, watching them leap between the trees. After the trek and lunch, enjoy the Nyungwe canopy walk (about 2 hours). Dinner and overnight.
Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park (about 5-6 hours), arriving in the afternoon. Check in and relax. Dinner and overnight.
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes
After a briefing at Kinigi headquarters, trek through the bamboo forest with armed ranger guides to spend a magical hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. Dinner and overnight.
Golden Monkey Trekking or Mount Bisoke Hike
Choose between tracking the rare golden monkeys or hiking scenic Mount Bisoke with its crater lake. Dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Akagera National Park
Drive east to Akagera National Park and enjoy an evening boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Dinner and overnight.
Akagera Game Drive
A half-day game drive through Akagera's savannah in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras and buffaloes. Dinner and overnight.
Departure
Return to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 9 Days Rwanda Safari.
