Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival
Arrive in Nairobi, welcomed and transferred to your hotel.
Lake Naivasha
Drive to the Rift Valley’s Lake Naivasha for an introduction to the highlands and birdlife.
Hell’s Gate & Drive to the Aberdares
Walk or cycle through the dramatic gorges of Hell’s Gate, then drive to the Aberdare range.
Ascent of Lesatima
Summit Lesatima (about 4,000m), the highest peak of the Aberdares, across open moorland.
Karuru Falls & the Elephant Route
Hike to the spectacular Karuru Falls along the forested elephant route.
Drive to Mt Kenya & Start Trekking
Transfer to Mount Kenya and begin the trek through the forest zone.
Ascent to Sagana River Camp
Climb through changing vegetation to the Sagana River Camp.
Ascent to Thego River Camp
Continue ascending to the Thego River Camp amid Afro-alpine scenery.
To Lake Hu00f6hnel & Mackinder’s Camp
Trek past Lake Hu00f6hnel to Mackinder’s Camp beneath the main peaks.
Point Lenana & Descent to Lake Michaelson
Pre-dawn ascent of Point Lenana (4,985m) for sunrise, then descend to the beautiful Lake Michaelson.
Descent & Drive to Samburu Reserve
Complete the descent off Mount Kenya and drive to the Samburu National Reserve.
Safari in Samburu Reserve
Full day of game drives in search of the Samburu Special Five – Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich.
Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
A final morning game drive before returning to Nairobi.
Return Flight
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
