Embark on a 4-day Uganda gorilla and volcano safari, exploring the last mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impeetrable Forest and hiking the stunning Virunga Volcanoes in Kisoro. Detailed Itinerary

Start your journey at 7:00 am with pickup from your hotel or guesthouse in Kampala or Entebbe. Drive southwest, stopping in Mbarara for lunch. Pass through rolling hills, lakes, bamboo forests, and terraced landscapes, entering the “Switzerland of Africa” region. Descend into Kisoro, at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes, with panoramic views across Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo.

Check in at Traveler’s Rest Hotel, relax in the garden or enjoy the colonial-style ambiance.

Travel 1 hour to Nkuringo, southern Bwindi, for gorilla trekking. Receive a morning briefing at 7:45 am, then start trekking at 8:30 am. Spend up to 1 hour observing mountain gorillas, photographing and learning from expert rangers.

Trekking takes 2–7 hours depending on gorilla location and requires moderate fitness. Return to Kisoro by 7:00 pm.
