2 days Mgahinga trek from Kigali.

Day 1: pick up from Kigali city and drive to Uganda’s Mgahinga national park.

The drive from Kigali to Mgahinga gorilla park involves crossing the border from Rwanda into Uganda. The most common route is through the Cyanika border post. Ensure that you have the necessary travel documents and check border crossing requirements. The road journey takes you several hours depending on road conditions. When you enter Uganda, the driver will take you to your booked hotel for check-in, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and return to Kigali city.

After an early morning breakfast, the driver will take you to the park headquarters to attend a pre trekking briefing session. After the briefing, an experienced guide will accompany you through thickets and forests of Mgahinga looking for these incredible primates. Mgahinga national park hosts only one habituated gorilla family Nyakagezi. Trekking takes about 2 to 3 hours, once you get to encounter gorillas, you are given one hour to be in their presence as you learn about their different ways of life and feeding habits. You are allowed to take a few snaps of the incredible moments, and after you get back to the starting point to receive a certificate of participation. The driver will transfer you back to Kigali city through the Cyanika border.
