7 Days: One Amazing African Week is a primate-and-wildlife adventure across Ugandau2019s finest parks. Track chimpanzees and up to 12 other primate species in Kibale Forest, search for the papyrus gonolek in Bigodi Swamp, sail the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park among hippos and elephants, and come face to face with a mountain gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The week is rounded off with game drives in Lake Mburo National Park among zebra, impala and topi.
Depart early for Kibale Forest National Park (about 6.5 hours), arriving at Kibale Forest Camp to sleep to the sounds of the tropical rainforest.
Begin the 4-hour chimpanzee walk at 8:00 am, with chances to see 10 other primates, butterflies and birds. In the afternoon, walk through the community-run Bigodi Swamp.
Depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park (about 5.5 hours) via Fort Portal, reaching The Bush Lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel. Enjoy a two-hour launch cruise on the channel among abundant wildlife.
Drive to Bwindi (about 8 hours) through the scenic landscape known as the u201cSwitzerland of Africau201d, with mountains, terraced hills, lakes and rainforest. Overnight near the park.
The highlight day. Transfer to the Bwindi park offices for a 7:45 am briefing and an 8:30 am start to track a habituated gorilla family, spending a maximum of one magical hour with them. Good physical fitness is recommended.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park (about 5.5 hours) with lunch in Mbarara. Enjoy a late-afternoon game drive (luxury) or a village/cultural walk (budget) in this unique park of impala and zebra.
Enjoy an early game drive or walk in Lake Mburo before returning to Kampala/Entebbe, marking the end of your amazing African week.
