Overview
The 5 Days Masai Mara Migration Safari is not your average African holiday. Travellers come from all over the world to witness one of nature's greatest spectacles: roughly 1.5 million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras, elands, and gazelles, in constant movement across the 40,000-square-mile Serengeti–Mara ecosystem in search of fresh pasture and water.
This itinerary pairs the migration drama of the Masai Mara with Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its flamingos and Kenya's largest rhino population, for a compact safari that is best experienced between July and October.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi, rest after your flight, and attend a short safari briefing in preparation for the days ahead. Overnight at Golden Tulip on bed and breakfast.

Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru, arriving at the lodge around lunchtime. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in this Rift Valley park renowned for its flamingo flocks in the dry season, its introduced southern white and eastern black rhinos, and its abundant birdlife, warthogs, and baboons. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp on full board.

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
Following breakfast, travel with picnic lunchboxes to the Masai Mara, the most northern portion of the 25,000 km² Mara–Serengeti ecosystem. After afternoon tea, head out on a thrilling game-viewing excursion before returning to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge on full board.

Full day in the Masai Mara
Spend a full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon wildlife drives across more than 500 square miles of savannah, woodland, and tree-lined rivers – prime territory for the migration herds and the predators that follow them. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge on full board.

Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the afternoon for your onward flight.
