Overview
5 Days Gorillas, Golden Monkey and Lake Bunyonyi Visit is an activity-filled safari to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park combined with an adventure visit to the spectacular Lake Bunyonyi. Track both Mountain Gorillas and Golden Monkeys in the only Ugandan park where they co-exist, then unwind at Lake Bunyonyi – the deepest lake in Uganda – with boat cruises, zip-lining, island visits and swimming in its bilharzia-free, crocodile-free waters. The safari starts and ends in Kampala and can be customized on request.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After an early breakfast, meet your guide and drive to Mgahinga, stopping at the Equator for photos and lunch en route. Arrive in the evening, check in and overnight. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner. Luxury: Mount Gahinga Lodge; Mid-range: Lake Chahafi Resort; Budget: Golden Monkey Lodge.
Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga
After breakfast and an 8:00 am briefing at the park headquarters, trek through the forest to spend a magical hour with the Mountain Gorillas. Receive your trekking certificate and return to the lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Trek the bamboo forest for the playful Golden Monkeys, then have lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, checking in to relax. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Luxury: Arcadia Lodges; Mid-range: Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort; Budget: Bushara Island Camp.
Boat Cruise and Activities at Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy adventure activities at Lake Bunyonyi – zip-lining across the lake, visits to its historic islands, swimming and birdwatching (Bunyonyi means “place of little birds”). Overnight at your lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Return Drive to Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala with a lunch stop in Mbarara, arriving for drop-off. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
