The 3 Days Lake Bunyonyi Safari is a relaxing escape to one of the deepest lakes in the world, set among the terraced hills of southwestern Uganda u2013 the u201cSwitzerland of Ugandau201d. Enjoy dugout canoe rides, community visits to the Batwa and blacksmith societies, birdwatching among 300-plus species, island history tours and peaceful lakeside evenings.
After breakfast, drive via Mbarara to Kabale (about 6 hours) through tropical countryside, the Equator and savannah of long-horned Ankole cattle, arriving at Lake Bunyonyi in the late afternoon. Relax with a dugout canoe ride or birdwatching by the lakeside. Overnight at a lakeside resort.
Visit the distinctive Batwa and Abaheesi (blacksmith) communities or the Bukora Cave, then enjoy an afternoon of boat rides, canoeing, cycling or a visit to the Orugano rainforest.
