Drive north to Murchison Falls National Park, Ugandau2019s largest park, arriving for overnight.
Morning game drive via Tangi gate in search of lions and giraffes, then an afternoon launch cruise up the Nile to the base of the Falls among hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and birds.
A morning boat trip downstream to the Nile delta at Lake Albert (a chance to spot the elusive Shoebill), followed by a visit to the dramatic top of the Falls.
Drive south past Lake Albert with spectacular rift views to Kibale Forest Camp, sleeping to the sounds of the rainforest.
Begin the 4-hour chimpanzee walk at 8:00 am (with chances of 10 other primates), then an afternoon walk through the community-run Bigodi Swamp.
Drive via Fort Portal to Queen Elizabeth National Park, reaching The Bush Lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel, with a late-afternoon game drive.
Game drive across the plains among Uganda Kobs, lions and elephants, plus a two-hour Kazinga Channel launch cruise.
Morning chimpanzee walk in the Kyambura Gorge, then transfer to the Ishasha sector for an evening game drive in search of tree-climbing lions.
Drive to Kisoro through the scenic u201cSwitzerland of Africau201d with Virunga volcano views, staying at the historic Travellers Rest Hotel once frequented by Dian Fossey.
Transfer to the Nshongi/Nkuringo sector of South Bwindi for a 7:45 am briefing and gorilla trek (3u20139 hours) to spend a magical hour with a mountain gorilla family. Good fitness recommended.
A free day for optional activities: a second gorilla trek in Mgahinga or Rwanda, climbing the Muhavura, Gahinga or Sabinyo volcanoes, the Batwa Trail and Garama Cave, Lake Mutanda canoeing, birding, or simply relaxing.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park u2013 the only Western Ugandan park with impalas and zebras u2013 for an evening game drive.
Morning game drive/walk, then the return journey to Entebbe with lunch in Mbarara and an Equator stop for refreshments and souvenirs.
