Day-by-Day Itinerary
Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart at 07:30 for the Masai Mara, arriving in time for check-in, lunch, and an afternoon game drive across the great plains — famed for their big cats and, from July to early October, the millions-strong wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River from the Serengeti.
3: Masai Mara — wildebeest migration experience
Two full days of game viewing across the Mara’s studded grasslands and rolling hills: black-maned lions, leopard, cheetah, elephants, and — in season — the dramatic scenes of the great wildebeest and zebra migration.
Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha for lunch at camp and a siesta by the pool. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional boat ride on the lake and a visit to Crescent Island. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Lake Naivasha to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Drive through tropical highlands to Thomson’s Falls for lunch, then continue to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in time for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Mount Kenya
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Mount Kenya park area, with dinner and overnight at your camp.
Mount Kenya to Aberdare National Park
Check out after breakfast with a game drive en route to Aberdare National Park, arriving for lunch and an afternoon game drive until late evening.
Aberdare to Amboseli National Park
An early start for the long drive south, with a lunch stop along Mombasa Road and game viewing en route to your Amboseli camp. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Amboseli National Park
A full-day game drive with picnic lunch. The swamps beside Observation Hill draw wallowing elephants and buffaloes, and clear evenings reward you with views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park
After an early breakfast, take a morning game drive en route to Tsavo West, entering through Chyulu Gate past the scenic Shetani lava flows. After lunch, visit Mzima Springs and the rhino sanctuary on an afternoon game drive.
Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park
Depart at 08:00 for Tsavo East, renowned for its huge elephant herds and the legendary “man-eater” lions. Check in for lunch, then take an afternoon game drive to the Aruba Dam.
Tsavo East to Mombasa or Nairobi
A final early-morning game drive explores more of this vast park and its 500-plus bird species. After breakfast, depart for Mombasa or Nairobi, arriving early afternoon — with the option of extending your stay on Mombasa’s beaches.
