Tourism beyond wildlife – a community-based tourism experience! In Motion Gorilla Safaris has joined hands with UCOTA, the Uganda Community Tourism Association, to promote community-based tourism and support community development in partnership with the tourists who visit.

How it works

Where UCOTA develops rural communities and creates projects, In Motion Gorilla Safaris offers you the opportunity to actually visit the community of your choice and see how the project supports their way of living. Cultural tourism in Uganda gives you an experience of a lifetime while making sure local people benefit from tourism too.

About UCOTA

UCOTA exists to help local communities improve their lives through the sale of handcrafts, the provision of accommodation, cultural performances, and tour guiding. Community projects operate small enterprises – craft making, music, dance, and drama – whose revenues support clinics, schools, water supplies, and literacy programs. Every time you buy a UCOTA product, you help a community help itself.

And you can help too

Visitors can support communities by visiting a project directly, volunteering, or making a donation (to ensure the money is well spent, donations should be made at one of the offices). Don’t watch the world from a distance – get involved and experience the real Africa!
