2 Days Lake Mburo National Park Safari

Overview.

Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest savannah reserve at 370km², yet hosts 5 lakes and exceptional wildlife. Located in western Uganda, it’s approximately 4 hours from Kampala.

The park is renowned for hosting Africa’s largest antelope—the Eland—alongside zebras, buffalos, leopards, hippos, waterbucks, and over 45 bird species including the rare Shoebill. Its five water bodies enable boat cruises with sightings of waterbirds, crocodiles, and hippos.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: TRANSFER | EQUATOR | GAME DRIVE

Meet your safari guide for a briefing, then depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at the Equator for photos and the water experiment. Continue through Masaka to the park for lunch and check-in. Enjoy an afternoon game drive spotting zebras, buffalos, leopards, hippos, and various antelopes among savannah vegetation.

Overnight: Rwakobo Rock Lodge or similar


DAY 2: WALKING SAFARI | SHOEBILL VIEWING

Begin with an early morning walking safari through the park, offering close encounters with zebras, waterbucks, antelopes, and buffalos while enjoying bird songs. After 2-3 hours, return for breakfast before departing for Mabamba swamp to spot the prehistoric Shoebill bird among other waterbirds. Transfer to airport or preferred location.
