3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari
Tour Overview
This 3-day safari visits Uganda’s largest national park located in northwestern Uganda on Lake Albert’s shores. Established in the 1950s, the park derives its name from the world’s strongest falls, named by the first Europeans to sight them—Samuel Baker and Florence Baker—after Royal Geographical Society President Roderick Murchison.
Murchison Falls National Park covers approximately 4,500 square kilometers of savannah grassland favorable for wildlife. During game drives, spot the tallest animal (giraffe), biggest animal (elephant), hippos, African Cape buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, and search for tough cats like lions and leopards.
The park features the cool Budongo Forest where chimpanzee tracking is possible. The mighty Victoria Nile flows through the park, enabling boat cruises to comfortably view sunbathing hippos, crocodiles, and other water species, plus animals coming to the shores to cool themselves while reaching the bottom of mighty Murchison Falls.
